Dear Parishioners:

We   congratulated   all   the   children   who   received   the   Sacrament   of   Baptism   last   Saturday   at   Sacred   Heart’s   Church.     We   thank the parents who attended the Baptism class and the godparents for taking up the responsibility to assist the parents with their duty. We deeply appreciate the Faith Community for praying for those who are newly baptized. We also congratulated those young ladies who received the blessing for their Quinceanera celebration this month. We thank the core team who assisted us to prepare them. We thank their sponsors who helped them to know more about our Faith and continue to guide them on their journey to adulthood.

We welcome Archbishop Emeritus Alex J. Brunett, who is with us for the Thanksgiving Mass for our beloved Sister Teresa Mai Trinh this Sunday, July 15th. She made her Professional Vow with her religious community on June 11th at her religious  Mother’s  Convent  in  Vietnam.    She  just  returned  last  week  and  we  have  the  Thanksgiving  Mass  to  thank  God  for   His blessings on us so we can have more vocations to serve the Church. We welcome everyone who has come to this celebration. We thank you for supporting the vocation of Religious life and the Priesthood. We also thank those who responded to the vocation of family life. We are supporting each other in serving God in what we are doing.

We  welcome  those  who  will  be  with  us  for  our  parish  picnic  at  St.  John  of  the  Woods’  Church  this  Sunday.    We  thank  the   core  team  who  has  worked  hard  to  make  this  event  happen,  as  it  is  an  event  to  ‘thank’  those  who  support  our  parish  with   many different activities. May you find joy and happiness with us at this event! We thank you so much for making our parish special with fellowship. Our  parishes’  grounds  looks  so  beautiful  and  we  have  a  dedicated  group  of  volunteers  who  come  each  week  to  mow  the   lawns and to clean up the grounds. We thank this special task force committee from each parish for assisting us with this project  to  maintain  our  parishes’  grounds.    We  thank  the  security  group  who  are  trying  to  keep  all  the  doors  locked  at  night. They  walk  around  the  parish  ground  each  night  and  they  give  us  a  report  on  the  safety  of  the  parish’s  facility.    We  thank   each group who utilizes our parish facility and for assisting us to close and lock up the facility after their meetings. It is hard  for  us  to  make  sure  the  parish  facility’s  lights  are  turned  off  and  all  the  doors  are  locked.    We  are  trying  to  be  a  good stewardship of time, talent and parish property and facility when we utilize them. We  thank  the  Review  Committee  of  St.  John  of  the  Woods’  Church  for  studying  the  User  Agreement  of  the  Parish  Facility.     This committee has recommended to the parish leaders to allow only parishioners to utilize the parish facility. The leader- ship  of  St.  John  of  the  Woods’  has  accepted  their  recommendation  and  they  have  asked  me  to  give  the  final  approval  to  this   agreement (the use of the parish facility). I have approved this guideline and we will implement it. The parish leaders of St.  John  of  the  Woods’  Church  and  I  have  approved  the  project  to  seal  the  basement  wall  of  the  Church  and  to  install  a   pump system which will prevent the basement from flooding (when the raining season comes). This project will take place next month.

Sacred  Heart’s  Church  will  host  the  Silver  Rose  Pilgrimage  on  July  29th. We will welcome the image of Our Lady of Gua- dalupe to our Church on this day. This image of Our Lady of Guadalupe travels to many countries and states and She will be with us on this day. You are welcome to join us and there will be more information on this event in the parish bulletin. Saint   Ann’s   Church   is   working   on   the   project   to   light   up   the   hall.     We   are   meeting   with   the   contractor   to   sign   the   final   agreement on what we will do. There are many different projects regarding the facility which volunteers can do, but there are some projects that require contractors or those who hold a license to do the work.

Each of our regional parishes needs to form a task force committee (for the long range plan) to study the information that we have shared with them. You are welcome to join this task force committee if you are able to make a short commitment of three to four months on this committee. The long range plan committee will be sorting out all the information and we will have the orientation for members of this committee. We thank the parish leaders who assist us to support this project. The Archdiocese of Seattle is doing the annual auditing on our regional parishes at this time. We thank the parish staff who work hard with the information to give to the auditor and we thank them to work hard on the Annual Report to the Archdio- cese that is due next month. The parish staff will have a day of reflection on July 24th at the Archbishop Brunett Retreat Center. Please keep them in your prayers on this day.

We want to have 100% participation on the Annual Catholic Appeal from our regional parishes. We thank those who have made the commitment to this Appeal and we remind those who have not to make your commitment. Please join us in this Appeal, as we need your support and it is through your support that you are able to help the parish with the goal that we have.

Thank you so much for your help and for supporting our parish ministry. May the Lord continue to bless on you and your family!

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. Tuan Nguyen, D. Min
Pastor
