Meeting With Archbishop Etienne

Archbishop Paul Etienne is coming to meet face to face with parish leaders on January 13, 2022 at St. Ann Parish Hall, 6pm.

The Archbishop will be describing his vision for the New Parish and School on St. Ann's current property.

Please keep our Archbishop, Pastor, and parish leaders in prayers as we trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Thank You Fr. Luan Pho, O.P

Fr. Luan Pho, O.P has left on Jan 2 with a warm goodbye to all of us. With deep gratitude, we say thank you to him for being here with our parishes for 3 months of sabbatical.

Fr. Luan has assisted out priests with Mass and liturgical celebrations at St. Ann, St. John of the Woods, and Visitation. All of our parishes have been tremendously blessed by his presence.

As he moves on for his new assignment as chaplain for Purdue University in Indiana, we wish him good health and wisdom. Please keep him in prayers.

Pastoral Plan and Activities

The Baptism of the Lord

Please read the Gospel for this Feast, Luke 3:15-16, 21-22.

Scripture scholars think that Jesus received the baptism of John as a way of identifying with the sinfulness of the human family. He was born a true man, but without sin. When we enter Church and bless ourselves with Holy Water, we are reminding ourselves of our Baptism. There is a Holy Water container in church. If you bring a small bottle, you can fill it and take Holy Water to your home so you can bless your home and family members. If you cannot finds the container, fill a bottle with water and ask the priest to bless it.

Dialogue: Do you recognize the presence of the Holy Trinity in this Gospel? What does their presence tell us about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? We have received the Sacrament of Baptism. What does this scene tell us about our Baptism? Do you know the date of your baptism?

Activity: If you have plants in your home, water them. If we fail the water them, most plants will die. Remind yourself that water brings life. The water of a bath or shower refreshes us, brings life, even more so the water of Baptism brings us life. Parents talk about each of your children’s baptism: where it took place, who were the godparents, show pictures if you have them. If the children have the names of saints, look up the saints on the internet. If there is a picture, you may want to copy it. Make a special dessert to celebrate Jesus’ baptism.

Religious Education & RCIC

Classes resume:

Sunday, Jan. 9th, 2022 from 10:30-11:20am

The New Year 2022 is here. This January we begin again with renewed enthusiasm. Second graders and older students for First Communion will have their final preparation for First Reconciliation. In February Fr. Tuan will have first communion parents meeting. We will send out the reminders to each family later. Fr. Tuan will check the list that all students are supposed to go to Sunday Mass and participate in any activities at church. There will be a retreat for parents and first communion students on March 20th at St. John of the Woods.

First communion students need to have their prayers memorized: Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Act of Contrition and ten commandments. Fr. Tuan will ask students questions to make sure they know what they are doing. Parents please help your children to study these prayers at home. Thank you for the help you give your children. Blessings to all families in this new Year.
